This post features my family’s recent staycation and my St Regis Singapore Review: Executive Deluxe King Room.

American Express: Complimentary stay

As a holder of the American Express Platinum Charge card, one of the perks that come with the card (upon payment of the annual fee) is a slew of hotel and travel benefits. With the card, in addition to $800 worth of travel and hotel credits, I’ve received a complimentary stay at Capri by Fraser Changi City, a complimentary room upgrade at Fairmont, and a 2D1N stay at Capella Singapore.

(Note: benefits are subject to change by American Express – do navigate my blog for the most recent posts / check with American Express for the latest benefits)

Complimentary 2D1N stay at St. Regis Singapore or W Singapore Sentosa Cove: voucher for American Express Platinum Charge Card holders

Additionally, card holders also get a complimentary stay at either the St. Regis Singapore or other participating properties (it varies depending on the season), so here we are at St. Regis.

Executive Deluxe King Room

At the entrance, we were greeted by a table with coffee/tea making facilities and a workdesk.

Hello, room

First impressions truly count – Dark wood furnishings adorn the table and drawers; hinting at the luxurious furnishings that were to come.

Loved the circular drawers, filled with snacks

Note: snacks are not complimentary

Our room covered an  52sqm/560sqft area. By Singapore standards, this was spacious and expansive. In the middle of the room, the king-sized bed looked inviting as hell. We had to restrain our three-year old daughter from jumping head first into before I took a picture. Hahaha!

King-size bed luxuriously adorned with signature St. Regis linens

There was no shortage of comfort – bed aside, a comfortable sofa (that matches the bed’s headboard!) and another seating area by the window.

Mathcy-Matchy Sofa and Bed Headboard

Pause. Notice the Dark Wooden furnishings.

View from the Window

No wonder the St Regis Singapore reviews itself as a ‘Home away from home’. The workdesk, armchair, furnishings, wall panels – all regally decked in dark wood, exudes richness and luxury.

Television, Workdesk, Coffee Table

At the time of our stay, I was pregnant and in my third trimester, so the staycation was really a babymoon – and for the husband, child and myself to rest and relax before the arrival of number two. The staff at St. Regis Singapore were really sweet and gave us some complimentary cake and fruit to celebrate the occasion.

Congratulatory chocolate cake and fruit

The chocolate cake was out of this world! Rich ganache akin to a smooth velvety cream admidst layers of sponge… so tip for anyone staying at St. Regis: If you’re celebrating a birthday or special event, let the staff know and they may surprise you with this life-changing chocolate cake.

So. Much. Chocolate.

In this St Regis Singapore review, I couldn’t believe that this room – the Executive Deluxe King – is the LOWEST TIERED room in the hotel.

More dark wooden furnishings…

Plenty of thought went into the room’s presentation. They really do set up the place for the guests in mind. Even in the small things, such as providing little tray by the door for guests to leave their keycards…

… to the provision of facemasks, hand sanitizer, and wet wipes to guests in the time of COVID-19.

… to the ultra clear labelling of buttons for lighting control and curtain movement.

Honestly, how could one NOT love this place?

So many little details, all of them impeccable.

High ceiling. Chandelier-esque lights. And… see the two black fixtures in the corners? That’s the stereo (Bose) sound system 🙂

Needless to say, we were in heaven, and it was only the beginning.

Exit on Left, Bathroom entrance on Right

Bathroom

I’ve raved about the room… but the real highlight, is the bathroom.

Sneak peek

Almost the entire bathroom, is built out of MARBLE.

That’s one vintage-looking bathtub

“This same captivating attention to detail continues in the expansive French marble bathroom, which features a unique freestanding bathtub as a glamorous centrepiece, as well as a separate jet-massage shower, a vanity mirror, and double basins.” – St. Regis Singapore

Not just one sink/mirror set… but TWO

Behind the tub is a separate toilet and shower area. Though at this point, i’m wondering if anyone is crazy enough to choose the shower over the bathtub.

Separate shower area and toilet

Bathroom amenities were from Remede Spa, the in-house spa at St. Regis.

Upon request however, child amenities can be provided. I personally find this super thoughtful – staycations aren’t just for adults, and this extra touch made our kid super happy to have her own bath amenities.

The icing on the cake for my three-year-old daughter however, was the super cute, super adorable and super comfy kid-sized bathrobe.

Imagine a short little human, dressed in the fluffy robes, running around squealing excitedly that it matches that of mom’s or dad’s – how adorable is that?

They did provide child-sized bathroom slippers as well… too bad I failed to get a picture; the kid had mangled them real early.

Of course, the robes for adults were just as comfortable

We all took turns to soak in the bathtub. I simply cannot find any fault with the room – it was all perfect. A small word of caution however – marble flooring can get VERY slippery when wet, and kids do make a splashy mess when they play about in the tub. But there’s tons of towels provided, so to a mindful parent, this matter is easily resolved.

Breakfast at Brasserie Les Saveurs

Those who know me will understand that I love the French dining establishment, Brasserie Les Saveurs. On separate occassions,  we’ve ordered from them la carte and experienced the set lunch menu before, so we were thrilled that we could finally try out their breakfast sets!

Currently, the breakfast here are served as sets. Each guest is entitled to one set. Click on the images below to enlarge and view the menus.

My husband and I both ordered the Epicurean breakfast set (the child doesn’t count, and she eats off our plates anyway).

For starters, we were served coffee and/or juices, bread basket, fruits and yogurts.

And then, came the highlight of the meal: the Epicurean Omelette.

Epicurean Omelette: Poached Boston Lobster, Tiger Prawns, Lobster Bisque Emulsion, Avruga Pearls, Green Salad, Cherry Tomatoes

Honestly, this is easily the BEST omelette I’ve had in my life. The saltiness of caviar blends with the fresh crustaceans and the overall texture is smoothened out by the egg, and extra-flavoured with a lobster bisque or broth in the background – this was simply divine.

Look closer – there’s bits of lobster or tiger prawns underneath the fluffy egg

Of course, no proper meal is complete without dessert. We chose the Banana french toast and Belgian waffles to share.

Brioche French Toast – Cinnamon Sugar, Roasted Banana Compote

The Banana brioche French Toast – warm caramelized bananas just resting on a hot egg-soaked and fried bread – was a hit with our daughter. I thought she was full from eggs and fruit but somehow with this she decided she had a second stomach and kept eating.

So the husband and I ended up mainly sharing the waffles lol. Sour fruit compote, sweetened by whipped cream, atop a not-too-sweet waffle, it too, was very good.

Belgian Waffles – Mixed Berry Compote, Whipped Cream

Both desserts exceeded expectations and it’s so hard to choose what’s better. But if i MUST pick a winner, it would be the Brioche French toast – but that’s mainly because I personally prefer the banana/cinnamon combo over the berry/whipped cream mixture.

Butler Service

If you somehow didn’t get enough of your coffee and tea fix during breakfast, fret not. In this St Regis Singapore review, I’m very happy to share that all guests are provided an unlimited amount of (complimentary) tea and coffee (and hot chocolate or steamed milk, if you prefer).

In-room tea menu

Needless to say, my husband, a die-hard coffee addict, was very happy to help himself to about 10 cups of coffee a day.

Left to right: steamed milk (for the kid), hot chocolate, peppermint tea

We seriously loved the Butler service. It’s very easy to use – simply call them as you would for any kind of room service. Someone will take your order and a Butler will deliver them to the room. You can even request for milk, honey, sugar, extra cookies… and the Butler will be happy to oblige.

Sometimes, when I stay in a hotel, one of the considerations is whether there is Executive Lounge access. It’s a real deal breaker when I can get hot milk for my child anytime (without needing to pack or buy extra), and when my husband can just walk over for his Cappucino fix (yes, we can make our own in-room coffee, but you know it’s not the same…) With the St. Regis Butler Service, it’s not AS important to have an Executive Lounge anymore, the all-day coffee/tea/hot chocolate more than makes up for it.

Note on Remede Spa

There are other amazing amenities here at the St. Regis Singapore. Especially the Remede Spa – it is the epitome of relaxation and zen.

Overall St Regis Singapore review

Overall, I am so glad that American Express gave us Platinum Charge Card users a chance to experience such a wonderful stay with the complimentary voucher. For this St Regis Singapore review, I must say, the staycation was seriously fantastic in a way that makes you feel special as a guest – the luxurious room and bathtub, carefully prepared breakfasts, overall child friendly-ness – EVERYTHING about the stay just hit all the right notes.

10/10 would highly recommend staying here.
