Mad for Garlic has officially ceased Love Dining benefits.
Mad for Garlic exits Love Dining
Another one bites the dust!
In my previous post, I wrote about how TWG Tea Boutique and Salon and Burlamacco Ristorante. will exit the Love Dining programme.
And now, Mad for Garlic has also joined the ranks of ex-Love Dining establishments.
Personally, unlike TWG and Burlamacco Ristorante however, this doesn’t feel like such a big loss. Among all the Love Dining places I’ve visited, Mad for Garlic has been my least favourite.
Love Dining Commentary
While the departure of Mad for Garlic is not so personally devastating, I do wonder about the overall state of the Love Dining Programme.
In recent months, there has been several (unfavourable) changes to the programme. For example, in November, in one of my previous posts, it was announced that Charlem Thai at The Capitol Kempinski ceased operations, FYR will not offer benefits on Fridays anymore, and TWG outlets at Orchard area exit Love Dining.
And then TWG and Burlamacco Ristorante officially exited in January 2021.
I’ve always recommended the love dining – the main benefit is that diners can eat up to 50% off in participating hotels and restaurants. I’ve regularly updated the restaurant dining guide and the hotel dining guide just because I truly believe in the programme and wish to share the most updated information with everyone.
I’m grateful that American Express has all these dining benefits, and it was one of the reasons why I applied for the Amex Platinum Charge Card.
To date, in my own personal experience, most love dining hotels and restaurants have been wonderful and highly recommended.

To me, even with all these changes, it’s still worth the trouble to apply for a qualifying American Express credit card to enjoy its benefits. There may be lesser places to go, but the places that are STILL part of the programme have never once disappointed.
Previously, this space was dedicated to referral links for American Express credit cards. As mentioned in my blog update, I will no longer be providing referral links going forward. Dearest Garlic Steak at Mad for Garlic – it was great knowing you, and you were damn good when it lasted. See ya for now, and hopefully you’ll return to Love Dining in the future 🙂
