I’ve heard of Basilico at Regent Singapore, but have never quite paid attention to it until now….
Basilico at Regent enters Love Dining
This blog started off 2021 on a slightly depressing note, with my prevous two posts documenting the departure of TWG and Burlamacco Ristorante, as well as Mad for Garlic.
However, despite the departure of existing Love Dining places, I was hopeful that new ones would enter the programme. After all, historically, new restaurants HAVE been added, and some places even make comebacks. For example, dining establishments in Conrad Centennial exited Love Dining in July 2019, but later returned in August 2020.
An Italian place: Basilico
Basilico is an Italian place – qualifying food items for Love Dining would include not only the A la carte menu (Applicable for items under Antipasta, Zuppe, Pasta e Risotto, Pesci e Carni, Pizza, Local Favourites), but also the Weekday Lunch Buffet, and Dinner Set menus.
Check out my review for Basilico right here!
This is good to note – usually, places with Love Dining only offer discounts on the A la carte menu. Other similar Italian places that’s located within hotels, such as Prego (Fairmont Singapore) and La Brezza (St. Regis Singapore), do not offer Love Dining benefits on any set meals.

The only exception I can think of whereby Love Dining benefits are given to set meals, is (i) the Epicurean Set Lunch at Brasserie Les Saveurs (St Regis), and even then the lunch may be switched to a la carte or something else at any time (in fact it was a semi-buffet pre-pandemic), and (ii) Mikuni – the Japanese restaurant at Fairmont, and that was only because I went during the Phase 2 of Singapore’s opening post-COVID, and dining conditions were more controlled than usual.
So the fact that Love Dining benefits are stated upfront for even the set meals on the American Express website – that’s really something.

Love Dining benefits
I cannot recommend this programme enough – is there anyone that doesn’t want to eat in nice restaurants or hotel dining establishments for up to 50% off?
For more information, I’ve compiled the restaurant dining guide and the hotel dining guide. To get these benefits, all you need to do is own a qualifying American Express Credit Card (Platinum, Platinum Reserve, or Platinum Charge Card).
I personally own the Amex Platinum Charge Card, and it’s the best credit card I’ve found for Love Dining and lifestyle benefits.
