This is a review for the French dining establishment, Brasserie Les Saveurs, at St. Regis Singapore. For a review of their Italian restaurant, LaBrezza, please read here.

Brasserie Les Saveurs

Brasserie Les Saveurs is hands down, my favourite go-to place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and anything celebratory-worthy. Not only is the ambience and dining quality top notch, and the service impeccable, selected American Express (Singapore) card holders also get amazing discounts as part of the love dining programme. (I particulary recommend the Amex Platinum Charge card for its huge range of benefits) In my case, a 50% discount was awarded for two diners.

AMEX Platinum Charge Card: starting my journey

For Supper Club members, a 25% discount can be applied to the total bill. If you don’t have access to an AMEX or the love dining programme, this is the next best alternative.

On the day I arrived, it was the first day they had launched their new Seafood buffet Menu.

So, let’s talk about the food.

Starters

Salads, cold cuts, cheeseboard, and bread display – need I say more? Check out the succulent meatloaf terrine dish; it was divine!

The salads here in this buffet at the St. Regis Singapore, are easily the best I’ve had at any buffet locally.

Ranging from a smoked duck and fruits salad, to a Mediterranean octopus dish with potatoes and olives, to a smoked salmon and vegetables type of dish, to the sweestest heirloom tomato salad one can find – no expenses were spared in getting the freshest, highest quality ingredients.

(Honestly, if this spread were simply just a salad buffet, I’d come for it too.)

My favourite dish from the starters’ was a very juice-rich, melt-in-your-mouth kind of duck rilette (see picture on left).

Though I’m no expert in how this dish was made – it looked like thin strips of the most flavourful parts of the ducks were prepared with herbs and garnished with dried fruit. I had multiple helpings of it – it was THAT good.

(And we hadn’t even started on the other dishes yet. Oh dear.)

Seafood on ice

There’s oysters from Europe and Canada, fresh poached prawns, crabs and lobsters galore. If the super awesome salads and starters aren’t your thing, the seafood on ice would more than make up for it. Everything felt so fresh – this section was a huge crowd-pleaser.

Mains

As the name implies, Brasserie Les Saveurs serves French cuisine – and the mains do not disappoint at all. Everything was tasty and neither words nor pictures could do the spread any justice.

Oven-baked Salmon, Caper Beurre Blanc Sauce (contains some alcohol)

Marinated Chicken Leg, Truffle Jus, Haricot Beans

Moules Marinieres (contains alcohol)

Stuffed Squid, Mediterranean Vegetables, Butter Sage Sauce

Beef Cheek Bourguignon, Pearl Onions, Mushrooms

This was hands-down my favourite main; the beef cheeks were so tender and the meat just completely fell apart in your mouth.

Desserts

By the time we were supposed to have desserts, we were nearly stuffed. But the display of ever-so-tempting sweets coaxed us into just having a little more…

Paris-Brest (left) and Choux au Chocolate (right).

The Choux au Chocolate is THE epitome of chocolate cream puffs. I have died and gone to chocolate cream heaven.

Assorted Macaroons.

Very sharp – both the lemon-flavoured and raspberry-flavoured ones were the perfect combo of sour and sweet.

Lime Coconut with passion fruit jelly (yellow) and some berry-flavoured jelly (red)

Earl Grey Gateaux de Voyage (left) and Opera Cake (right)

Chocolate Cake (left), Apple Tarte Tatin (top middle), Vanilla Creme Brulee (top right), Pistachio Raspberry Financier (bottom right), and a Creme caramel flan (bottom left)

Free additional cake for special occasions

Tip: if you’re coming here for a birthday, anniversary, or other special event – let the staff know when making the reservation. On two separate dining occasions (both of which involved celebrating something), this gorgeous, rich chocolate ganache cake was presented to my table.

The best part? If you’re unable to finish it there and then (not surprising, given the buffet spread…), let the staff know and they will pack it for you to take home.
