Review of Crossroads Cafe

This is actually my second review of Crossroads Cafe.

As my first review was a pretty positive one, it was on my mind that one day I’ll come back here.

Crossroads Cafe @ Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel Singapore: a review

Then, in last month’s blog post, when I posted updates to some Love Dining restaurants – at that time of writing, it was announced that Crossroads Cafe and Lobby Lounge at Marriott Tangs Plaza Singapore Hotel would be undergoing a temporary closure. So we decided to head down before the closure became official.

American Express Love Dining benefits

As usual, the husband and I chose this place because the American Express Love Dining programme gives us a 50% discount when two adults dine in.

Lunch at a hotel and 50% off – can’t say no to that.

For first-time visitors to this blog – I am a huge fan of the Love Dining programme. A number of American Express credit cards that provide Love Dining privileges. Namely, the Platinum Credit Card, the Platinum Reserve Credit Card, and the Platinum Charge card. (I know, the names sound really similar and it can be confusing). My favourite is the Platinum Charge card thanks to a whole host of other benefits it offers.

    Food

We made our order with the friendly staff, and very soon, our food arrived.

One of my favourites here is the spicy buffalo chicken wings. It is well-fried – crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Served with hot sauce (some variation of chilli sauce) and is hugely popular among guests.

That day, my husband had the Marriott Burger.

The Marriott Burger, according to the server, is a signature item at both Marriott Tangs Plaza Singapore and JW Marriott hotel. The patty is 100% ground angus beef, and is served with cheddar, tomato, crispy bacon, and dill pickle. It has a good juicy patty  great on the days when you FEEL like you need a good burger.

The fries were hot and crispy too!

For myself, I had the Marriott Club Sandwich. A medly of turkey, bacon, lettuce, and tomato, stuffed in a three-tiered sandwich style. Standard club food – great either as a meal, or to share among others.

Generally – this place is great for both quick lunches and leisurely afternoons. Today, we had a quick one, but were equally happy and satisfied. I would miss Crossroads cafe when it undergoes temporary closure – let’s see what happens when it reopens (as itself? something else?) in the later part of the year.
