Most Romantic Restaurants with Love Dining
With Valentine’s Day is around the corner, there’s been requests for me to share my which are the most romantic restaurants in Singapore.
Celebrating your love / an anniversary / something aside, there’s nothing that sweetens a wonderful couple’s night out like a 50% off the romantic dinner for two.
With the American Express Platinum Charge card, the Love Dining benefits allow diners to eat in at a number of reputable hotels (Hotel Dining Guide here!) and several high-end restaurants (Restaurant Dining Guide Here!) at up to 50% off.
Among all the participating dining establishments, here’s the top 8 places (in the opinion of happyhighlife.com at least) that are 100% romance-worthy.
For more information on the American Express Platinum Charge Card, check out my posts on (i) the card’s extensive list of benefits and (ii) a breakdown on whether the card was worth the SGD 1712 annual fee.
Disclaimer: I just have to say this; (i) the views here on the most romantic restaurants are 100% the personal taste of the author of happyhighlife.com and do not reflect anything of the nature of the businesses reviewed. Readers are advised to exercise discretion, as happyhighlife.com will not be responsible for any of your dining decisions. (ii) American Express love dining benefits may not apply for Valentine’s Day itself (benefits usually don’t apply to public holidays and special occasions such as Mother’s Day). This post merely gives recommendations for romantic places in a more generic sense and no specific advertisement for Valentine’s Day Menus are presented.
Note: The list of Most Romantic Restaurants that offer Love Dining benefits are listed in no particular order.
1) Brasserie Les Saveurs (St. Regis Singapore)
Cuisine: French
Brasserie Les Saveurs is the French Dining establishment at St. Regis Singapore. It’s one of my favourite places, and definitely qualifies as one of the most romantic restaurants in Singapore.
Brasserie Les Saveurs
The high ceilings and chandeliers sets the mood of French opulence in the day, and slow amorous times at night.
Legine Australe – Toothfish, Bell Pepper Piperade, Chorizo, Baby Artichokes
At the time of writing, the very lovely French menu carries Love Dining benefits for both the a la carte menu and the Sunday brunch.
Reservations are highly recommended, especially for the Sunday Brunch (Note: Sunday Brunch didn’t qualify for Love Dining in the past, so this could be something that comes and goes – check with the restaurant before heading down!)
And if you want to go over the top with more romance, St. Regis Singapore also delivers a wonderful staycation that’s complete with butler service and access to the impressive Remede Spa.

2) SKAI (Swissotel the Stamford)
Cuisine: Modern, Fusion
Skai is a contemporary dining establishment located on the 70th floor of Swissotel the Stamford. At that height, the boasts amazing view of the City Hall area in Singapore.
It’s easy to see why Skai easily qualifies as one of the most romantic restaurants in Singapore.
SKAI at Swissotel the Stamford
Among all the places listed here, the menu at SKAI is one of the more unique ones.
Foie Gras – topped with spiced carrots, bonito, apple pieces and crushed hazelnuts
Contemporary and complex, each dish is a work of art in itself. It’s hard to replicate Skai’s menu – definitely a worthy contender for those who wish to try something different.
With a qualifying American Express credit card, dining here at 50% off is definitely a huge plus point.

3) Napoleon Food and Wine Bar
Cuisine: French
If I had to describe a ‘romantic bar’, Napoleon would be the perfect example.
Napoleon Food and Wine Bar – Bar Counter
Seating Area
There is a huge wine collection, imported directly from France. As far as our understanding goes – where there is French wine, there is romance.
The food is French cuisine with a modern twist. Plus, the desserts are real winners – go for the mixed dessert platter for a real good sampler.
4) Basilico (Regent Singapore)
Cuisine: Italian
Basilico is an Italian fine dining place located on the second floor of Regent Singapore hotel.
Basilico at Regent Singapore
Basilico has all the bells and whistles that you’d expect from Italian cuisine: pasta, pizza, gnocchi, roasted or pan-fried meats and fish.
Black Angus Beef Sirloin (left) and Risotto (right)
However, the QUALITY of what they give – is top notch. Ingredients are fresh, wholesome, and excellently prepared. The desserts are on another level; I’ve tried almost every dessert at this place, from their tiramigu (tiramisu in a glass) to poached pear to the tree nut tart, and everything has just exceeded all expectations.

5) Mikuni (Fairmont Singapore)
Cuisine: Japanese
Want some place mysterious and dark that serves excellent Japanese fare? Look no further than Mikuni.
Mikuni at Fairmont Singapore
Dim lighting, dark woody tones, and black furniture. I can’t ascertain if it’s authentically Japanese, but the feel is VERY sophisticated and formal.
Seating Area
Food-wise, it does not disappoint. The standard of Japanese fare is high – fresh and authentic. Amex Love Dining benefits typically apply only to the a la carte menu, but there was once that I dined in (during a time of more stringent covid19 restrictions) that set meals had Love Dining applied. As always, it’s recommended to call the restaurant to enquire what qualifies for Love Dining, before heading down.

6) Indocafe: the white house
Cuisine: Pernakan / Local
Do not be fooled by the colonial building exterior. Inside, is a highly-intimate restaurant with a beatifully decorated peranakan interior, and there are only 38 seats (Even for events, the restaurant can hold up to 60 pax only).
Pictures don’t do this place justice – it is so very vintage and exquisite in details and decorations.
Mikuni at Fairmont Singapore
The peranakan dishes are phenomenal. Indocafe has won several dining awards. It’s THE place to go if you want good, local food that’s really special. Perfect too for foreign visitors who are hankering after South-East-Asian fare.

7) Lawry’s The Prime Rib
Cuisine: Western / American
Lawry’s The Prime Rib is a steakhouse dining establishment located in the Orchard road area, at the Mandarin gallery.
Although technically of American origins, the place is set up to resemble classical European poshness.
Lawry’s The Prime Rib
What’s so special about Lawry’s – it isn’t just the aged steaks or lobsters, though those are awesome in themselves.
There is a whole performance factor – when a food item is delievered – from the spinning bowl salads to the steak cart with meats sliced right in front of you – it adds to the whole experience of having steak served right to your table.
The Silver Cart, Chef, and Steak Cuts – delievered and done right at your table
8) SKIRT (W Hotel)
Cuisine: Western Grill
“SKIRT brings to you the essence of an honest grill-house.
With our centre-piece Parrilla Grill and a carefully controlled charcoal flame, we ensure that the most delicate flavours of our sustainably sourced seafood and prime-cut meats are maintained and at the same time, enhanced for the succulent treat of your choice. ”

Sentosa? W Hotel? This has definitely got to be one of the most romantic restaurants in Singapore.
Let me state this upfront: At the time of writing, I have not personally dined in SKIRT. Yet.
I’ve been to W hotel, I’ve walked past the place (it is VERY romantic), but I’ve not actually dined in there. However, I’ve heard at least four close friends say enough good things about SKIRT that I feel confident enough putting it on this list.
Update August 2022 – I’ve been to SKIRT! Read review here:
Steak Grill. Image source: SKIRT website
Prices here are on the steeper end. With the SKIRT steak starting from S$92++, and even the ‘cheapest’ striploin at S$78++, these may be reasonable prices for GOOD steak but it doesn’t change the fact that the raw numbers are high.
That 50% off amex love dining would definitely come in handy.
