DISCOVERY Membership – Complimentary Platinum Status

To any American Express Platinum Card holders (both main and supplementary) – register for DISCOVERY membership by 31 December 2021 and get a complimentary Platinum status for the PAN PACIFIC and PARKROYAL Hotels group worldwide!

Discovery Membership Benefits

Typically, there are three tiers of DISCOVERY membership:

Gold: Received upon joining
Enjoy a range of complimentary benefits as soon as you enrol in the DISCOVERY programme. Anyone can sign up for it, and it is free.

Platinum: 10-29 Nights
Platinum level is unlocked after staying ten qualifying nights in a calendar year.

Black: 30+ Nights
An upgrade to Black is unlocked after 30 qualifying nights in a calendar year.

The overall benefits summary are as follows:

While there are several benefits to Platinum elite status – the main perks of a Platinum membership include: an upgrade to the next room category and late check-out privileges at 3pm, subject to availability. Additionally, Platinum elite members receive up to 20% off on the dining bill when eating in at the hotel’s dining establishments.

And now, with the Amex Platinum Charge card, card holders get this elite status even WITHOUT the need the usual minimum of 10-29 qualifying nights. 

Register for DISCOVERY Membership Platinum status

Some people I know who have the American Express Platinum Charge card received an email inviting them to join the membership, however there were also others who did not receive an email notification – and I was one of them.

However, if you (i) enroll in the DISCOVERY membership – get the most basic Gold status upon enrollment, note the membership number, and (ii) call up the Platinum travel concierge and give them that membership number, when you request for an upgrade to Discovery Platinum status, they will be very happy to process your request.

I made the request with the Platinum concierge over the phone, and within a few days received this email from them informing me of a successful status upgrade.

DISCOVERY Hotels

I have stayed at the Capella Singapore before – and wow, it was the epitome of luxury and comfort. If there was ONE place I would recommend as a one-of-a-kind experience for a staycation, the Capella would be it.

American Express Platinum Charge card

The Amex Platinum charge card is my favourite credit card of all – for getting up to 50% off with Love Dining benefits at restaurants and in hotel dining establishments, for the numerous hotel elite statuses, and for a number of other perks; in my opinion this card is unrivalled for its lifestyle benefits. Highly recommended who those who enjoy food, travel, and hotel stays.
