Wildseed Cafe at The Summerhouse
Located far away from downtown, near the Seletar Airspace, this is The SummerHouse (according to the website):
“Offering blooming views and the best from our humble garden and farming collective, The Summerhouse is a unique dining destination tucked away in the idyllic Seletar countryside. It comprises of Botanico, an Asian Grill restaurant on the upper storey; The Summerhouse Garden Domes, an immersive dining experience amidst our lush edible garden; and Wildseed, a pet-friendly café, patisserie and bistro-bar with live music on the ground level.”

It was one of those rare weekends that I had a chance to meet a friend just for brunch. As such, we decided to head down to the very ‘exotic’ location near Seletar Airspace, where The Summerhouse is.
Road leading to Front Entrance
Compared to the rest of the very-crowded Singapore, this place was literally uninhabited – probably due to its faraway/inconvenient location.
Front Entrance
Yet, Wildseed Cafe at the Summer is a popular weekend place for bunch. It’s one of the few pet-friendly cafes in Singapore, and there is a lot of room back out – a playground for children, and space for pets to run about.
Behold the outdoor space

Wildseed Cafe – Indoors
The friend and I preferred the indoor seating – given all the surrounding greenery, it was actually cool outside, but we are suckers for air con anyways.
Helped ourselves to water and condiments
I highly recommend making reservations – despite it being super out of the way for most people, it can get pretty packed for weekend breakfast or brunch.
American Express: Global Dining Credits

Previously, in the last calendar year, I had enjoyed these benefits at MONTI (read about it here!), and at FIRE at 1-Atico (read more here!). However, at the time of dining, I had yet to utilize the 2024 credits, and had up to S$200 to that I could have spent at Wildseed Cafe.
I swear these cakes looked so good, pictures doesn’t do them justice

Brunch / Cake at Wildseed Cafe
To start off, the friend and I ordered Truffle Mayonnaise curly fries to share.
Truffle Mayonnaise Curly Fries
These were served with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese and a truffle mayonnaise dip on the side.
Amused by how super curly the fries are
These fries were really good – hot, crispy, slightly salted, and generally well fried. If you love truffle, the dipping sauce had a real pungent truffle aroma. Win!
Truffle Mayo on the side
We also ordered the Kelong Prawn and Scallop Pizza to share.
Kelong Prawn and Scallop Pizza
Loaded with cameron highland cherry tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, mascarpone and served with a pesto dip, the pizza was delightful. The base felt nearly like those authentic Italian-style bases, a little chewy throughout but slightly crispy on the edges.
Truly Juicy Prawns
If you want something hearty, I’d recommend the Beef Moussaka.
Beef Moussaka
The Wagyu Beef goodness is mixed in with zucchini, potato, eggplant, swirled in a bechamel sauce, topped with parmesan cheese, and thoroughly baked to perfection. Note: the restaurant warned that there would be a 15-min wait time for this dish (that can stretch to over 20 mins during peak period).
Rich, hearty, and just plain comforting – dense calories aside, we had nothing bad to say about this one.
Spot the potatoes and the somewhat hidden zucchini behind
We decided to end the meal by sharing a large slice of Carrot Cake.
Carrot Cake
The cake’s ingredients was all visible to the naked eye. Filled with hand-grated carrots, desiccated coconut, chopped walnuts, dried cranberries, layered alternately with a cream cheese frosting, and topped with more coconut flakes and a pretzel coconut malt crumb… this appealed immensely to both the carrot cake lover and coconut lover in me. The combination of everything was pure perfection.
Four alternating layers of frosting / cake
Despite being near gelat (thanks to the Beef Moussaka from earlier), the both of us polished this off. Easily.
All in all, it was an extremely enjoyable meal – So hearty that we felt sinfully close to over-indulgence. Haha. Totally worth the over 1 hour bus ride up here, and 10/10 would return if time permits.
American Express Global Dining Credits
Note: At the time of dining, holders of the American Express Platinum Charge card are entitled to S$400 worth of Dining credits annually – of which S$200 is alloted for local spend within Singapore and S$200 for overseas spend.
As such, I used part of this benefit to offset the bill.
