Waldorf Astoria: Promotion
Among fans of the Hilton brand and those who love luxury travel, the Waldorf Astoria is renowned as a luxury hotel chain that attracts the most elite guests. Wikipedia describes it as “a Hilton Worldwide luxury hotel and resort brand. It is positioned as the flagship brand within Hilton’s portfolio, being used on hotels which offer the highest standards of facilities and service.”
Now, the Waldorf Astoria is having a sweet promotion: Till 31st December 2020, Book a stay for four nights, but pay for three.
Do note that: while the deal is advertised as a four-night stay, the offer can be applied for a minimum of four consecutive nights, to a maximum stay of seven nights. Therefore, it’s more accurate to say that the promotion is roughly 25% off the total rate.
Online Booking Process
Hilton Honors members and subscribers of membership newsletters would have received a mailer containing a direct link. However, the promotion can also be accessed from Waldorf Astoria’s exclusive offers page.

Under ‘Reservations’, select one of the participating hotels.
I’ll be using the Waldorf Astoria in Rome Cavalieri as an example. Here, you will be directed to this page after clicking ‘Book’.

Input the dates for the stay – ensure that the stay has a range of four to seven nights.
Under ‘Special Accounts and Rates’ – tick the checkbox for ‘An Extra Night on Us’ .
A list of room options will be generated.

Only the promotional rates are immediately displayed upfront. To compare them with other ongoing rates, simply click on ‘more prices available‘ and the dropdown menu opens up:

It is obvious that the current promotion (stay four nights, pay 3 nights) – at 491 Euros, is the most economical option.
To compare it with another rate over a 4-day stay period:
The promotion rate (book 4 nights, pay for 3) works out to 2,021 Euros.
The Semi-flex rate (able to cancel 3 days before arrival) is 2, 571.20 Euros.
Whoa. Comparing the hotel bookings of similar conditions (able to cancel really close to stay) – the promotional rate is over 500 Euros cheaper! (Which does work out to about 25%)
Yes, there is an Advanced purchase rate. Yes, there are other options that are cheaper than the semi-flex rate. However, those rates tend to be NON-REFUNDABLE. Meaning, changes to the booking are not allowed once you put down a credit card number and confirm the stay. The Semi-flex rate was used for comparison simply because the cancellation policy is nearly identical to that of the promotional rate.
Still, overall this is a great deal not to be missed. If the Waldorf Astoria’s been on your wish list, this is the perfect opportunity to go.
List of Participating Hotels
Do note that not all Waldorf Astoria hotels are participating in this promotion.

It is recommended that travellers ensure that the specific hotel is running this promotion before booking this deal. Unfortunately, many countries are not participating in this. For example, the Waldorf Astoria hotels in Thailand, Egypt, and Maldives, are all sitting out.
And even if a specific country does appear – it doesn’t automatically include ALL the Waldorf Astoria hotel chains within that country.
Such is the case in China, destination to a total of four Waldorf Astoria hotels. However, only two of them – in Beijing and Shanghai on the Bund – are included in this promotion. The remaining two in Chengdu and Xiamen are excluded.
