Sky22 at Courtyard Marriott Novena Singapore
Sky22 is one of those lovely, no-nonsense restaurants that offers American Express Love Dining benefits, and centrally located in Singapore. Specifically, the place is nestled at the 22nd floor of Courtyard Marriott Novena Singapore.

The entrance is from the hotel – take the elevator up, and once you exit, Sky22 is right there.

The first thing that caught our eye are the windows that offer panaromic views of the area.

While waiting to order, complimentary foccacia bread alongside butter and an olive oil / vinegar mix was brought to us.

On a clear day, Sky22 offers an amazing view of the Novena area.

American Express Love Dining
This round, I came with a friend for lunch at Sky22. As usual, I am using the benefits of the American Express Love Dining programme. – Â It allows diners to enjoy 50% off at participating establishments when two adults dine in.
I absolutely swear by and cannot live without the Platinum Charge card (I’ve written about the list of benefits here), thanks to a whole host of other perks that it offers.

Food
Upon making an order, the servers bring one piece of complimentary bread with some butter.
Do note that, each diner only receives ONE complimentary piece of bread. The second piece onward will be subject to charges.

In an attempt to get more greens into my diet, we decided to order the Green Sandwich to share.
Green Sandwich
This is a triple-decker toast set, stuffed with grilled portabello mushrooms, guacamole, tomato, lettuce, and generously sprinkled with pumpkin seeds.
It’s healthy for sure, if you ignore all the fries in the backdrop.

We also ordered a side of Grilled Asparagus to share.
Grilled Asparagus
These came with mushrooms and endives.
The asparagus was very well-fried and lightly seasoned. Makes you feel all good and healthy, haha.
Greens
As if to undo all the initial green veggie goodness, we also ordered a Fish and Chips to share.
Fish and Chips
The fish, a black grouper, is coated in a thick beer batter and deep fried to perfection. Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, we really enjoyed this more than the green sandwich.

Finally – dessert.
At the time of dining, there was a dessert option of Bur Bur Cha Cha (I think this was the dessert of the day; it may not always be available).
Bur Bur Cha Cha
This was a lovely mix of root vegetables (yams, sweet potatoes) in a sweet coconut base, and topped with ice cream. Totally satisfying.
I hope they make this a permanent menu item in the future.
Not so sweet. And potentially full of fiber 🙂
All in all, it was a good lunch, with great company, and a good 50% discount. Would come back again if I happen to be in the Novena area.
