Enjoyed dinner with my family (husband and two kids) at the Atrium Restaurant buffet at Holiay Inn Singapore Atrium.

The dining establishment is located on level 4 of the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium hotel.

Atrium Restaurant is an all-day dining a la carte and buffet establishment that serves an extensive selection of international flavours and local favourites for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

American Express Love Dining

As usual, we are here partly because of the American Express Love Dining programme.

This is the cheater’s guide to buffets – especially when you have small children. Both my kids could eat for free at the Atrium Restaurant buffet (child dining policy is that kids under 5 eat for free). So technically, only the two adults in this case (husband and myself) should pay, which is pretty standard, as far as buffets go. However, because of Love Dining benefits, which gives 50% off when two adults dine – we end up footing the bill for just one adult.

Translated: Pay for one adult, and a whole family of four gets to dine. How awesome is that?

American Express Love Dining @ Restaurants 2023 guide

This benefit comes with ownership of a qualifying American Express credit card. My personal favourite is the Platinum Charge card (I’ve written about the list of benefits here), thanks to a whole host of other perks that it offers.

    Appetizers

The Atrium Restaurant buffet comes with a large selection of starters.

    Marriott Crossroads Cafe

    Seafood on Ice

For the health-conscious, good news: there’s a decent range of salad options to choose from.
    Harry's review cuppage plaza

    Salads

    Also salads: DIY version

There were also classical favourites, such as mushroom soup with bread.
    Harry's review cuppage plaza

Cream of mushroom soup. Buns on the side.

During our meal, we were notified that, as part of the buffet, each adult gets one serving of lobsters.
    Harry's review cuppage plaza

Lobsters – only one set per adult

These were fresh, but not really sweet – it could be luck, but nevertheless we do appreciate how they try to make it a little more special for diners.

    Western

The buffet is technically international, but what this means in local terms: western food available.

    Marriott Crossroads Cafe

Roast beef, potatoes, and seasonal vegetables.

There’s a good range of items here, but most of them were pretty ordinary. Not particularly fancy, but enjoyable for a buffet.

Such as the Roasted Spring Chicken.

    Brasserie Les Saveurs entrée
There were a couple of seafood options as well.

    Mussels

Pan fried fish with dill cream sauce

    Korean theme

Occasionally, the Atrium Restaurant buffet would have themed seasons or meals. At the time we dined, the theme was Korean and many Korean dishes graced the buffet displays.

    Marriott Crossroads Cafe

    Korean noodle station

    Harry's review cuppage plaza

    Tteokbokki (korean spicy rice cakes)

    Harry's review cuppage plaza

Chadol Doenhang Jiigae (beef brisket in soybean paste stew)

    Harry's review cuppage plaza

    Samgyetang (Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup)

    Harry's review cuppage plaza

    Chicken Bulgogi

    Harry's review cuppage plaza

    Haemul Jeongol (spicy seafood stew)

    Local selections

I gotta say, this is awesome for a local buffet – it has all the typical Singaporean / Malaysian favourites in one place.

    Hainanese Chicken Rice

    Satay drowning in peanut sauce

    Sweet and Sour Fish

    Harry's review Anguilla park burger

    Beef Rendang

    The Drawing Room Club Sandwich

    Gado Gado… galore

My favourite item of the day: the Roti Prata!
    review of crossroads cafe burger

Roti Prata and Chicken Curry (in the pot)

The prata here is perfection: hot, super crispy at the edges with a slight crisp everywhere else, and subtly chewy once in the mouth – it hit all the right notes.

    The Drawing Room Club Sandwich

I had a double serving of this – it was THAT good

Though I have to admit – the Indian items here were really enjoyable. Super carb-intensive, but soooo good.
    Harry's review Anguilla park burger

    Nasi Briyani

    Harry's review Anguilla park burger

Dum Aloo – slow cooked potatoes in spicy gravy

    Desserts

At the Atrium Restaurant buffet, the dessert choices are mostly the local variety.

    review of crossroads cafe burger

    Ice Kacang station

    review of crossroads cafe burger

    Assortment of Malay Kuih

Of course, everyone loves ice cream.

    The Drawing Room Club Sandwich

Ice Cream station. Durian option available.

Or have a side of fruit.

    Harry's review Anguilla park burger

    Fruits and Cakes

Myself – went for the Ice Kacang. And it somehow ended up looking like Chendol. HAHA.

Overall, a hugely enjoyable buffet. The highlight is more about the quantity – there is something for everyone to enjoy – and less about the quality – food was alright but more on the average side.

Go for it if you love local food and want a huge variety in a buffet setting.

On the side – the Chinese restaurant at Holiday Inn Atrium Singapore is pretty good as well – I highly recommend it if Cantonese fine dining appeals to you.
