Tower Club @ Republic Plaza

I’ve written about Tower Club Singapore a number of times, particulary about Atlantic, their in-house Western dining establishment.

Holders of the American Express Platinum Charge Card and American Express Platinum Reserve card receive complimentary access to Tower Club Singapore – a menbers-only club typically used by business people. Card holders may also bring guests / family members along with them.

Card holders need a reservation for entry, to be made via the American Express Concierge service.

What I love most is the views from the windows – paroramic views of the Marina Bay area all around.

One of the reasons why I choose to dine in Tower Club is because of the S$100 voucher given to Holders of the American Express Platinum Charge Card.

Previously, holders of the Platinum Reserve card also had the S$100 voucher (so, given that I had BOTH these credit cards, I used to get TWO of these vouchers annually). However, unfortunately, at the time of writing, as of 1st January 2024, Platinum Reserve card holders would no longer receive this voucher. A bummer for sure, but it’s one of those scenarios that we simply have to enjoy what we can get.

Atlantic @ Tower Club

During lunch, the Atlantic typically does a three, four, or five course option.

Personally, I always go for the three-course meal as it is more than sufficient.

Food items, however, tend to change – it seems like alterations are made at least once every 2-3 months. This is my best guess, and changes are possibly more frequent than that. I typically visit a few times a year, and everytime the menu looks like it’s gone through a makeover (see previous reviews here and over here).

So frequent visitors will always find new variations to try.

In this post, I’ll share some of the sample items I’ve come across to date.

Appetizer samples

The appetizer option is usually a small salad or soup of the day.

Mini Buffalo Milk Cheese

Take the Mini Buffalo Milk Cheese, for exaple. Served with roma tomatoes, ice plant lettuce, basil pesto sauce and balsamic reduction. Astringent in the best way possible.

Ice Plant Lettuce is cruchy

On another occasion, I had the Grilled Zucchini Salad.

With red vine tomatoes, smoked scarmoza cheese, beetroot cream, confit button mushroom and goma dressing.

Vegetables and Cheese. That’s healthy, right?

Check with the server for the Soup of the Day option. Though, I recommend that one goes for the OTHER salad / appetizers instead, as those tend to be more pretty and/or exotic.

Not that their soup is bad in any way.

Soup of the Day: Brocolli

Once, I did try their Brocolli Soup, and it was thick and well-pureed – just the way vegetable soup should be.

Typical Main Dishes @ Atlantic

The mains were fancy western dishes: usually a protein paired with vegetables and a complementing sauce made on-site.

Baked Salmon Fillet

For example, behold the Baked Salmon Fillet, served alongside green lentils, roasted cauliflower, glazed smoked ham and arugula salad.

If anything, this was definitely high fiber.

The more vegetable-intensive side

Beef lovers, rejoice. There is a chance of steak making an apperance. Though it can be hit or miss – the steak can be tough, so personally I suggest a request for the steak to have a medium doneness (on the raw side).

Baked U.S. Grass-Fed Beef Tenderloin

Admittedly, the Baked U.S. Grass-Fed Beef Tenderloin, with boiled potatoes, mushroom puree, asparagus, and drizzled with a blue cheese and beef glace, was pretty good.

Aww, oblong-shaped vegetables

There is usually at least one fish option – fish tends to appear a lot in the course meals at Atlantic.

Baked Red Snapper Fillet

One of my favourites was the Baked Red Snapper Fillet. With boiled purple potatoes, caramelized carrots, sauteed kale and red pepper cream sauce, the fish, fresh and tender, absorbed all the ingredients’ goodness into a Good Fishy Yum.

Fishy Business

On rare occasion, there may be pork and beans. Protein rich, yes?

Stuffed Iberico Pork Loin

The Stuffed Iberico Pork Lion, with pickled green apple, stewed mixed beans and mustard sauce – was a little on the heavy side.

Though, as far as richness goes, the Braised Australian Oxtail is a close rival.

This was heavy – but thankfully, the baby spinach leaves, pomme puree, stewed seasonal vegetables, madeira wine reduction lifted it a little.

Sinfully rich

Tower Club Set Lunch – Dessert

In Atlantic’s three-course meal, the sweet endings all come with a dessert of choice.

One of the more memorable ones I’ve had was the Pistachio Chocolate Cake.

It arrives together with Thai coconut ice cream and homemade creme anglaise sauce. A taste of Southeast Asia, but in a typically western dessert.

Once, there was the Irish Panna Cotta, topped with raspberry compote, meringue, and mint leaves.

There could also be crumbles served in any kind of fruit composition – for instance, the Warm Cherry Crumble, which went beautifully well with roasted almonds, cherry sauce, and homemade vanilla ice cream.

It’s hard to predict what one will get on a given day. Once, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Freshly Baked Pecan Tart was.

The baked peacans morphed into a sweet nutty goodness when paired with vanilla ice cream, chocolate crumbs, and creme anglaise. It’s made even better when taken with coffee, which is included in the meal.

Coffee or Tea comes as part of the Lunch Set. Here’s a Cappuccino.

Overall Tower Club review

Depites the variations in menu, Atlantic’s Tower Club Set Lunch has been pretty much consistent.

If you hate surprises, a suggestion would be, at the time of reservation, to request that Tower Club emails you a copy of the most current menu / the menu planned for your date of visit.

Important Note: this is an adults-only place. There are occassions or meals where kids above a certain aged may be allowed in, but those moments are few and far between. Before bringing in any child of any age, do check with the concierge if allowed for that day.

Prices with American Express

In this Tower Club Set Lunch (Atlantic) Review, as a holder of both the American Express Platinum Reserve card, and the Amex Platinum charge card –  I typically use an S$100 voucher for dine in.

As this post showcases a SAMPLE of what food items to expect, I currently do not have fixed pricings to show.

However, for the 3-course meal, I’ve seen it go as low as $48.00 and as high as S$62.00. Diners can typically expect prices in this range, give or take a little.

Lastly, word to note – that there is a 10% surcharge to dine at Tower Club – and this is ON TOP of the usual 9% GST and 10% service charge.

So for EXAMPLE, for a meal that costs $63.00

– Subtotal: $124.00

–  10% Surcharge for Tower Club: $12.40

– 9% GST: $13.50

– 10% Service Charge: $13.64

– Total Bill: $163.54

(However, with a $100 Tower Club voucher from American Express, the final bill will be $63.54 instead).
