Tower Club
Ba Xian is located within Tower Club Singapore. It’s a members-only club located in the Central Business District area.
Owners of the American Express Platinum Charge card and American Express Platinum Reserve card are given complimentary access to Tower Club. They may also bring in guests. While visitations require a pre-booking with the American Express Concierge service, I’ve never had a problem with the process – calling to request for reservations had always been easy.
Stunning views from Tower Club
Spotted: Marina Bay Sands
- Atlantic: Western / Continental, both set meals and a la carte available
- Ba Xian: Chinese Fine Dining, with an amazing Dim Sum menu on Saturdays
- Straits Bar: As the name suggets, it is a Bar – though Afternoon High Tea is available at midday
I’ve dined in at Atlantic before – check out my reviews here:

American Express S$100 Voucher
With the American Express Platinum Charge card or Platinum Reserve Card, card holders receive an SGD 100 Tower Club voucher annually (upon payment of the annual fee), to dine in at either one of these three places.
Tower Club Voucher worth SGD 100 – for dining in at Atlantic, Ba Xian, and Straits Bar
(And yes, I used one of the vouchers for this Ba Xian review and dine-in).
I acknowledge there’s a hefty annual fee of the Platinum Charge Card – SGD 1712. However, the moment card holders settle this annual fee – they DO NOT have to pay annual fees for any other American Express Credit Card. Hence, the annual fee for my Platinum Reserve Card (SGD 535) is waived, and in addition I get to enjoy the perks of both these cards.

Ba Xian review
On Saturdays between 11.30am to 2.00pm, Dim Sum at Ba Xian go at HALF PRICE. In addition, diners can enjoy Laurent-Perrier La Cuvee Champagne at $17 per glass or $95 per bottle.
Note: Usually, the Tower Club is an adults-only place. But during Saturday Dim Sum, kids are allowed in. In fact, for this Ba Xian review and visitation, I was able to bring BOTH my kids in (aged 4 and 1 respectively).
At the time of my visit, Ba Xian was under renovation, so we ended up sitting at the Atlantic area instead.
Dining Area

The food arrived fairly quickly.
You Dim Sum, and you dim sum more.

Sometimes, i think that Dim Sum main dishes are simply carbohydrates.
Not that we’re complaining.
Behold: carbs.

Stir-fried carrot cake with prawns in XO sauce
Pork congee with century egg and dried scallops
Dessert
We ended the day with desserts both hot and cold.

Overall thoughts
The location is a winner, hands down. Dining with views overlooking that Marina Bay is a luxury in itself, so it’s a great place to impress your guests.
The staff at Tower Club were very attentive; it’s definitely an improvement compared to my previous visit. The staff here were very quick to respond to all our requests, were kind to young children, and generally pleasant.
For this Ba Xian review, we found the Dim Sum very enjoyable, especially desserts – they are among the better dessert-type Dim Sum I have found in Singapore, and there’s no question, that I’ll be back again. BUT do note – that there is a 10% member surcharge to dine at Tower Club – and this is ON TOP of the usual 7% GST and 10% service charge for dining out in Singapore.
Important Note: Tower Club is USUALLY an adults-only place. The Saturday Dim Sum brunch is an EXCEPTION whereby kids are actually allowed to dine in. Before bringing in any child of any age, do check with the staff if kids are allowed in for that day.
