Behold, my review of Oriole Coffee + Bar.
Oriole Coffee: Entertainer App by HSBC
Oriole Coffee + Bar (yup, that’s it’s official name) is a lovely cafe located opposite Somerset 313, at the Pan Pacific Serviced Suites in Orchard.
Rustic feels
Usually, my family and I visit restaurants that are part of the Love Dining programme – so far it’s served us well – almost all our personal Love Dining Experiences have exceeded expectations.
However, the Love Dining programme isn’t the only discounted dining scheme in Singapore. Another good one is the Entertainer App by HSBC credit card. For more information, check out my other post here:
And, at Oriole Coffee + Bar, one can redeem a 1-for-1 main via the Entertainer app.

So, with the two kids in tow, the husband and I literally walked in one day, without reservations, and it so happened that seating was available.
Front Counter
The menu featured typical cafe fare (check out the online menu HERE) – western mains, and lots of coffee.

Coffee
One must order coffee at a cafe, right?
By ‘coffee’ – I also meant it in the plural form.
Coffee. Plural.
My husband, the coffee snob, got the Pour Over Osprey. This is Oriole’s Coffee + Bar’s medium roasted, single origin coffee bean from Ethiopia. Handcrafted with a scent of lemon, berries, jasmine, the flavour is rich and aromatic.

For myself, not knowing what to get, I decided to go for a mini sampler. The Taisho Tasting Flight is a trio of Cold Brews: White Coffee, Black Coffee, and M.A.D milk (dairy-free, cold-press nut milk made with Macadamias, Almonds, and Dates – hence M.A.D).
Taisho Tasting Flight
All were good – but my favourite was the M.A.D milk – nutty and milky, and beautifully creamy. The kids tried some ended up sharing most of it – they loved it too.
With kids around, I’m so glad I got this – for the Taisho Tasting Flight, adults get the coffee and the kids get the caffeine-free M.A.D milk.
Western Fare
When you want something idiot-proof that’s going to keep the kids happy and quiet, get a bowl of fries.
The truffle fries were pretty ordinary, but had a good hint of truffle. Served hot, these were well-received by everyone.

And then, came the Chilli Crab Pizza to share.
Chilli Crab Pizza
Lumps of chilli crab sauce and meat, mozzarella cheese, and coriander are laid and baked all on a crusty pizza base. What’s there not to love?
They were also pretty generous with the amount of crab meat, so bonus points for that.

We also ordered a second main, the Herb Roasted Barramundi, to share.
Herb Roasted Barramundi
Generally, the food was alright.
I recommend coming here for the coffee – the drinks are pretty good, and the variety is unique. The food is above average – while it doesn’t particularly stand out, it is as good as what one can get from a typical cafe in town.
